Diocesan Museum - Cathedral of San Giovanni
It is one of the junctions of the itinerary of the “Royal Centre”, museum and cultural nucleus of the city. It is located in Piazza San Giovanni in Turin in the Lower Church of the Cathedral. It is a Renaissance building and includes archaeological areas related to the early Christian basilicas near the Roman theatre. The priority in the project of this museum was the respect of its historical value; it is a museum of itself, whose aim is to make of its itinerary a moment of reflection and further analysis of cultural and religious aspects, an incentive for a conscious interpretation of the sacred architecture and art. The itinerary is divided into thematic historical and religious areas, with works of art that run until contemporary art.
